We Need Sponsors

Our mentorship program is for young adults who desire to live purposeful, meaningful and fulfilling lives. Our desire is to provide mentorship for these young adults free of charge, since many of them are college and graduate students or are new to the workforce and still paying off college debt. We’re seeking to help raise up a generation of youth and young adults who can live into their God-given callings and impact culture for God’s Kingdom and believe mentorship is a great way to do this.

In order to provide mentorship to these young adults free of charge, we need sponsors willing to support the work we are doing. Our mentorship program continues to grow each and every year and we now have a waiting list of young adults who are seeking to be mentored by our mentors. In order to make the mentorship of these young adults possible, we need more sponsors!

Why Sponsor a Young Adult?

There are many young adults seeking to be mentored by our organization who need sponsors to support their mentorship with us. Please read below to hear personally from some of the young adults who have recently signed up for our mentorship program, as these young adults have shared briefly why they desire to be mentored by our Christian mentors and why they believe mentorship is important. We would love to be able to provide mentorship free of charge for these young adults and anyone else seeking to live a more purposeful, Christ-centered life. Will you give the gift of mentorship?

“I am excited to be a part of the Renaissance mentorship program because I would love to have someone speak wisdom and truth into my life on a consistent basis. I would also love to have someone help me discern God’s will and direction for my life.” – Autumn B., Senior at Vanguard University

“My mother and I are very close, but a mentor would be unbiased. I would love to have someone I can contact a little more frequently, and a woman would be helpful! I hope to get a God-fearing and God-seeking influence. I think having an outside perspective of yourself, an unbiased perspective of your strengths and weaknesses, can be imperative to your personal contribution to the Kingdom. I am excited to have the opportunity to be mentored!” – Cecilia M., Senior at Vanguard University

“I desire to be mentored by Richard Park because he is someone that I look up to in many aspects of life. I love to learn and seek wisdom from those who are where I want to be. I believe that this relationship will lead to me solidifying my calling and I believe that mentorship is a very important part of life for anyone who wants to walk towards spiritual maturity. I am excited to continue my mentorship with him.” – Christian W., Sophomore at Vanguard University

“I believe that mentors are a key aspect in the refining and development of one’s calling. The Bible says that, “Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed” (Proverbs 15:22). So, with this in mind, I think it is important to walk alongside someone who has “gone before me,” so to speak—someone who can discern solid ground versus a pitfall. I am coming into this like a sponge hoping to soak up anything I can. I am grateful for this opportunity.” – Shea H., Vanguard University Alum

I desire to be mentored because I want to walk behind others who have taken a couple more steps towards our treasures in Heaven than I have. It is important for me to be mentored because I know that I am prone to making selfish decisions.  I want to walk in a straight line with my character and identity anchored in Christ. I’m not looking to live vicariously through my mentor’s faith; I just want my mentor(s) to walk with me so that I can live vicariously in my faith and my relationship with God. I want to be a bright light to my family, friends, colleagues, and everyone else I come across.” – Andrew K., Site Selection Manager

“As I am still unsure what Christ is calling me to,  I am constantly on the search for guidance, advice, and constructive criticism. That being said, my intention of having a mentor lies in the hope that through guidance, advice, and prayer, I would walk confidently in purpose and learn how to navigate and execute that in everyday life. Being that this is my last year of college, I strive to learn as much as I can from wise, experienced, and spiritually mature people who have gone before me, or as a professor once explained it, “…to stand on the shoulders of giants”. A mentorship would grant me the opportunity to do just that and more.” – Jennifer M., Senior at Vanguard University

Testimonials from Past Mentees

Please check out what some recent graduates of our mentorship program have to say about their experience being mentored with us. We would love to be able to impact others in the same way.

“It’s clear to me that having a mentor has been nothing but helpful; I have only gained from it. The chance to test my gifts has been and continues to be instructional. Any understanding or knowledge received from Dr. Park has proved advantageous. The lessons on trusting God concerning future events and decisions has only helped. All of it has helped.” – Wesley G., Vanguard University Alum

“This was my first experience with a mentor and I have to say it is important that more individuals seek a mentor. I am thankful to have had someone in my life that poured into me and led me closer to the Lord. This mentorship program helped me in many areas that I did not know needed healing and guidance, specifically leadership. I will be graduating in six months and I am blessed that in this season of my life, I was able to gain more confidence and assurance in the next step I will take, which is going to graduate school. I needed confirmation and assurance and through this program, I was able to discern and receive confirmation about my calling.” – Ashley R., Senior at Vanguard University

“My experience with The Renaissance mentorship was something incredible. It was a perfect placement by God at the perfect time! As Dr. Park and I went forward with our relationship, I was open about my doubts regarding where God wanted me to be. I prayed with him with specific prayers for my future and God was able to answer those prayers exactly. Having a mentorship encouraged me to pray and outwardly express a lot of my doubts and fears. It also gave me someone looking out for me and pushing me to do what God has called of my life, without hesitation.” – Hunter W., Vanguard University Alum

While I have learned many things during the program, being mentored has given me confidence to walk in the direction the Lord had already pointed me towards in my life.  I know the Lord has called me to ministry (with both local and global aspects) and academia (therefore to pursue graduate school). I know the Renaissance will continue to help many young adults find their place in partnering with God’s will for their lives.” – Grace E., Vanguard University Alum

“I personally want to thank my previous sponsors not only for the funding they have provided for my participation in the Ren mentorship program but, most of all, for their prayers. Every person on The Renaissance team, including my sponsors, has played a significant role in my spiritual formation this year. Thank you so much!” – Kindra S., Senior at Biola University

How It Works: A Renaissance mentor will be in a one-year commitment with a mentee and help them discern, define, and deploy their calling. They will meet one-on-one, once or twice a month. In their meetings, they will use “The Blueprint” course as a reference and for discussion guidelines. We also plan to have three gatherings annually, which will include training for mentors as well as fellowship for mentors and mentees. We aim to grow this program into a supportive community for everyone.

Connection Points: We are happy to connect our sponsors to the mentee(s) they sponsor, as long as the mentee(s) agrees to it.

Bi-Monthly Updates You’ll Receive:
